Raised Beds

There are 3 types of materials that can be used raised beds.

 
Freshly harvested orange carrots

Cedar

This wood is naturally rot resistant and is not treated with any chemicals; making it perfect for growing food. 

We use 2" thick boards to help extend the life of the raised beds and prevent bowing.

You can expect these beds to last around 10 years or more.

 *note: natural stain or oil finish can be added

Stone

Both uniform and natural shaped stones can be used depending on the raised bed shape.

 You can expect these beds to last 15-20 years or more.

Steel

Custom built by a local metal artist using American made steel. 

Corten steel beds can have a rusted appearance. They can also be powder coated in grey or black. 

You can expect these beds to last for 30+ years.

 

Trellises

Trellises maximize growth space and add visual interest to the kitchen garden.

Panel Trellises

Fancy or basic. Panel Trellises can support tomatoes, peas, beans, cucumbers, and squash

Arched Trellises

Can support tomatoes, cucumbers, peas, beans, and squash.

 

Almost all of our trellises are built by a local metal artist using American made steel from a local source. Trellises are custom built and can be made in black, brown, or patina.

Pathways

Pathways help extend the life of the raised beds, provides additional drainage, and helps define the kitchen garden space.

Borders

Borders define the garden area. They also keep the grass out of the gravel and the gravel out of the grass.

Steel Edging

Clean lines, barely visible. Most popular option. Comes in black, brown, or green.

Cedar

Flush with grass and gravel. The wood will age to match the beds. Can also be stained.

Brick/Stone

Can be added to match the raised beds or other landscaping elements in the yard.
